InfoMap is developed using Delphi for Windows. The hardware and configurations required to run InfoMap is similar to that required to run Windows effectively.
InfoMap requires the following hardware:-
Before installing InfoMap, you must install and configure the Borland Database Engine, "bdedemo.zip". If you are using a Borland Windows database product or Novell Quattro then you will already have the Borland Database engine.
To install InfoMap, create a directory (eg., c:\infomap) and unzip the files into this directory. The executable program for InfoMap is "imap.exe". Run this program within Windows and InfoMap will configure itself. After unzipping the zip file you should get the following files.
Before running InfoMap, make sure you have the DOS environment variable TEMP set. eg., "TEMP=c:\temp" and make sure that the directory (eg., c:\temp) exists on your system.
When you run InfoMap the first time, it will create its own system tables i.e. defobj, users, model and viewers. It will also create the "imap.ini" file in your Windows Directory.
If you get a Windows general protection fault and you are using more than 256 colours, try changing your display settings in Windows to 256 colours.
